9th-12th Grade Activity: Advocacy Letters

Objective: Teach students how to effectively advocate for policy changes through letter writing.

  • Printable advocacy letter templates. (Download Here)
  • Pens and paper or computers

Instructions

  • Explain the role of policy change in combating child trafficking and the importance of citizen advocacy.
  • Distribute the advocacy letter templates and guidelines.
  • Have students research current legislation related to child trafficking and identify key policymakers to contact.
  • Guide students in writing persuasive advocacy letters, highlighting the need for specific policy changes.
  • Allow students to share their letters for feedback and support.
  • Encourage students to send their finalized letters to the appropriate policymakers.
