3rd-5th Grade Activity: Safety plan

Objective: Empower children with the knowledge and skills to create their own safety plans, helping them to recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations.

Materials

  • Paper
  • Crayons, pencil crayons or markers

Instructions

  • Draw a map of your neighborhood or your school.
  • Mark the safe places you can go if you ever feel scared, like your home, a friend's house, or the school office.
  • Write down the names and phone numbers of trusted adults you can call in an emergency.
  • Practice what you would do if a stranger approached you, role-playing with a parent, caregiver, sibling or friend.
